{Jemma} Aquabus

This trip and its pictures were taken in the summer, but we never found enough time to write about it...until now.

One August afternoon last year, mom and dad decided it would be a wonderful idea to bring me to have a ride on an Aquabus. The Aquabus is a water taxi service that has several convenient stops.

We decided to board the Aquabus at Granville Island.

Excitedly rushing to the dock.

Once there, I looked at the map and told the humans which route we should take.

Then dad paid for the tickets. I got to ride for free.

As we were boarding the Aquabus, I was on a leash walking right behind mom. She took two steps into the bus when she heard a little commotion from the staff - I had fallen in between the gap of the boat and the dock!! But thank DOG the gap was narrow and I didn't fall right through, only the bottom half of me. I don't know what happened and neither does mom as it all happened so fast. Mom came to my rescue and lifted me out.

(Mom: This incident certainly does not help in trying to get her to overcome her slight fear of holes and especially going up/down skeleton stairs. Perhaps I should have picked her up and carried her into the Aquabus, but I don't really like to pamper her like that as I want her to be able to do things on her own.)

There were many passengers taking the same route when we got on. I received a whole lot of attention and pets from the others. As the ride went on, everyone got off at different stops until it was just us.

The driver's seat is right in the middle of the Aquabus.

I was extremely happy to be riding the Aquabus with mom and dad.

I spent much of the ride nestled right between them.

Once everyone got off, it was time to do a little exploring. That's another Aquabus right behind me.

Since I was being a good girl, I was rewarded with treats.

I also did a little sun basking.

And, of course, enjoyed the view and took in the breeze.

Here's a short video taken on the way back to Granville Island:
