My 9th Birthday Walk

This post is over one month late now. I have a bad secretary.

Mom brings me somewhere fun to walk every year on my birthday. Since we were in Edmonton during my birthday this year, she decided to bring me to MacKinnon Ravine Park. The cool thing about this park is that it connects to a lot more parks (over 20!) around the city if you keep walking down the trails.

I lead the way, of course.

Alberta always has such pretty clouds. The sky is very beautiful there. In BC, there are no distinct fluffy clouds - everything is one grey depressing mess.

Camera angle trick. It looks like it's going downhill, but it was actually a steep uphill climb.

Which path would you take?

Can't go anywhere without having to pose for the camera, of course.

I took my sweet time smelling the flowers and leaving pee-mail.

It was a super long walk, so we had to take a rest at one point.

Oh, and for more pictures...

I made mom carry me for a little of the way because it was so very hot and I didn't want to get a heat stroke.

We walked all the way until just before a golf and driving range before mom decided it would be best to head back. This little fellow greeted us at the end of our walk. A beaver. Another thing we don't normally see in BC.

I'm officially 9 years old!

Love,
Jemma
