Getting ready for a scene with my "owner".
Taking a much deserved break with Vita.
With my "owner" again.
Love,
Jemma
Mom's Note: We were there for approximately 6 hours. Most of the scenes required Jemma to do long sit-stays and directly in front of Vita, too. Since both Jemma and Vita are very calm and confident dogs, we had no issue with them facing (and staring at) each other. It was a breeze. For whatever reason, Jemma seems to have more of an issue with male dogs.
Anyway, there was one scene where both of them had to run off together as though they are friends, which was a bit tough as the timing had to be just perfect.
I put Jemma into a sit-stay and walked across the park to be out of the shot. Vita's owner put her in a sit-stay as well. As soon as "Action!" was called, Joe would release Jemma from her stay. She would race her little heart out to where I was, so that wasn't an issue at all. Vita, on the other hand, had a delay because she would be busy paying attention to her owner who was close to her and it would take a few seconds for her to realize she was supposed to run to me. That was probably the hardest scene of the day, but we got it after several takes. During the last and final take, I thought we had to redo it because Jemma did a face-plant and then got up and continued running. Fortunately, she was already out of the shot by then.
