Visit to the Edmonton Humane Society

Hi everyone, Tofu here.

Mom and Auntie C visited the Edmonton Humane Society today.

She was so impressed with the new facility that she decided it would be worthwhile to snap some pictures on her phone to share.

This is the "Adoption Gallery":

This is the admitting and pick-up area:

Since mom was neither admitting or picking up anything, naturally, they headed to the Adoption Gallery to view the animals. Okay, mostly cats, to be more specific. I did a darn good job of converting that woman to a cat lady.

This is the hallway that leads to the many cat rooms.

There are a few rooms with cats in cages, but most of them are free to roam in quiet and relaxing rooms where soft calming music is played for them.

Such as this room...

And this one...

Mom thinks the ones in cages are the newly admitted ones that need to be carefully monitored for a while. And the teensy weensy kittens.

Like this one...

Can you tell mom spent a good deal of time with this kitten? Thank cod she's not looking to adopt right now.

MOVING ON...

This one caught her eye, too.

And this one.

And...those are basically all the pics she took. Funny, all the cat pics she took were of ORANGE kitties. Coincidence much?

She was only able to leave when the intercom announced that they were closing. So she reluctantly left.

On her way out, she realized that there is even a big off-leash dog park right outside the EHS. At first she had thought it was a run meant for dogs up for adoption, but she was wrong.

We think the new facility (compared to the old smaller one) is fabulous and that the animals are happier living like this!
